Most IV therapy sessions take about 30 minutes — for your first visit, please plan for an additional 15 minutes to allow us to get everything set up.
Do I need to do anything before my session to prepare?
No special preparation is required. Stay hydrated and come ready to relax.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Yes- come in when it is convenient for you! If you prefer to book in advance, click the ‘book now’ button on our website.
IV Therapy
What is IV therapy?
IV therapy is a low-risk treatment that allows essential vitamins and nutrients to be delivered directly to the bloodstream. It may be the most effective way to hydrate the body and get 100% absorption of the vitamins because the GI system is bypassed entirely. It can enable rapid absorption and higher bioavailability, making it effective for rehydration, nutrient replenishment, and medication administration. IV therapy is administered by a licensed nurse through a small catheter placed in a vein, typically in your arm or hand, allowing fluids and nutrients to be infused comfortably over the course of your session.
What is the difference between IV therapy and oral supplements or medications?
IV therapy bypasses the digestive system, delivering fluids, nutrients, vitamins, or medications directly into the bloodstream through a vein. Oral supplements must pass through the digestive tract before absorption, reducing bioavailability and slowing onset.
How long does it take?
The service itself lasts approximately 30 mins but, if it’s your first visit, plan for an additional 15 mins for the intake process and consultation time.
Who is a good candidate for IV therapy?
Individuals seeking benefits such as:
- Hydration and rehydration
- Cold/flu prevention and recovery
- Increased energy
- Brain fog relief
- Athletic preparation and recovery
- Hangover relief
- Jet lag recovery
- Maternity support
- Potential anti-aging benefits
- Chronic conditions impacting nutrient absorption
Can I get an IV if I'm pregnant?
At Twin Rivers IV & Wellness Lounge, certain IV therapies may be suitable during pregnancy, but it’s essential to consult with your healthcare provider before proceeding. Individual health circumstances vary, so a personalized consultation is crucial to ensure safety for both mother and baby. If you have further questions or need assistance, feel free to ask!
Does getting an IV hurt?
It can, however we do our best to make each experience as comfortable as possible.
Who will administer my IV?
Registered nurses! Here at Twin Rivers we hire highly trained and skilled registered nurses to educate and help you choose the service that’s right for you. Each of our staff members has no less than five years of experience and will spend the necessary time with each client to make each visit unique to you.
Do you take insurance?
Unfortunately we don’t; however, clients have been able to use their HSA cards and Mediflex plans to cover the services we offer.
How quickly will I feel the effects?
Depends! Each individual is different and services can be very different. Some clients can feel the benefits immediately while others can take several hours or even a full day.
Are there any conditions that may prevent someone from getting IV therapy?
Yes. Contraindications include:
- Known allergies to IV substances
- Vein issues (damage, sclerosis)
- Fluid overload risk (heart/kidney conditions)
- Severe electrolyte imbalances
- Extremely low blood pressure
- Pregnancy (special considerations)
- Active infections or sepsis
- Complex chronic illnesses requiring special monitoring
Is IV therapy safe?
Here at Twin Rivers we take every precaution to deliver the safest care to each client. It’s important to note that we collect medical history, a set of vital signs and a waiver from each client prior to delivering services. Here is a list of a few of the risks we would like everyone to be aware of:
- Bruising at the site of injection — this can be prevented by keeping the bandage wrap on for at least 20 mins.
- Light headed — this is most likely the effect of Magnesium. While it’s wonderful for relaxation it can cause a dizzy-like sensation. Communicate with your nurse if you begin to feel this and your infusion can be slowed.
- Unsuccessful IV attempt — while our staff is highly trained, we are still human. We do our very best to make each IV attempt successful.
- Infection — while it’s extremely uncommon, infection can still occur. Our equipment and techniques help reduce those risks greatly.
How often can I get IVs?
This is dependent on lifestyle and the individual’s goals. It is safe to receive services on a weekly basis but a majority of our clients are on a 2x monthly routine. We have membership options available for all lifestyles!
Who can get IV hydration?
Most of those seeking our services are typically healthy, active individuals who are seeking the unique and effective services we offer. Our services range from potential cold/flu prevention, increased energy levels, fighting brain fog, and helping in athletic preparation and recovery. We treat individuals 18 and older who meet the requirements set by our Medical Director.
Can I use IV hydration to prevent hangovers or sickness?
Of course! Many clients find it beneficial to use our IV hydration services prior to a night out and to help prevent and fight cold/flu symptoms.
Injections
What is the difference between injections and IV therapy?
Speed, dosage and fluids are the biggest differences. Injections are done so quickly but are limited in dosage and don’t include the fluids that infusion therapy offers. The absorption remains at 100% and can certainly make the visit timelier for those on the go!
Are injections safe?
In short, yes. Injections are a safe and effective way to administer vitamins and minerals into the system, but they don’t come risk-free. Pain and bruising at the site may occur.
What can I expect at my appointment?
Injection appointments are extremely quick. The type of injection is chosen, the site is cleaned well, and the treatment is completed.
Are there any dietary or lifestyle recommendations to complement injections?
Of course, and they vary. For example, if you are focused on immunity, then it is recommended that you also include lots of fluids and citrus fruits to help build the immune response. If you are focused on weight loss, adding physical activity and a few dietary changes may also help achieve goals quicker.
How often can I receive injections?
Each type of injection has a recommended pattern of usage to achieve the best results. It is best to speak to the nurse to ensure you are on the correct cadence.
NAD+ Therapy
What is NAD+ therapy?
NAD+ stands for Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, a coenzyme found in all living cells. It plays a critical role in various biological processes, including energy production and DNA repair. We offer this ingredient in infusion and injection form and in several different dosages to fit the needs of each client.
Can NAD+ levels decline with age?
Yes, NAD+ levels tend to decline especially after the age of 40. This decline is believed to contribute to various age-related conditions and may impact cellular function and overall health.
What are the potential benefits of NAD+ supplementation?
Some studies suggest that NAD+ supplementation may help improve mitochondrial function, enhance DNA repair, and potentially offer benefits for conditions related to aging, such as neurodegenerative diseases and metabolic disorders. It can also help strengthen the immune response, accelerate recovery, reduce pain and inflammation, and improve mental clarity.
Are there any risks or side effects associated with NAD+ supplements?
NAD+ supplements are generally considered safe, but potential side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort. As with any supplement, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional before using NAD+ supplements, especially if you have underlying medical conditions or are taking medications.
Comprehensive Labs
Why should I get a comprehensive lab test?
Comprehensive lab testing provides valuable insights into your overall health and wellness. It helps identify nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, genetic markers, and potential risk factors before symptoms appear. By understanding what’s happening inside your body, you can take a more personalized and proactive approach to optimizing your energy, immunity, mental clarity, metabolism, and longevity.
How can comprehensive lab testing support proactive health and wellness?
Comprehensive lab testing empowers you to take a proactive approach to your health by identifying imbalances or deficiencies before they develop into more serious issues. Rather than waiting for symptoms to arise, lab testing allows you to optimize your nutrition, hormones, and overall body function. This helps enhance energy, improve resilience, and support healthy aging — so you can feel your best today and in the future.
Is a lab test necessary to see benefits from IV therapy or wellness injections?
No — you do not need a lab test to experience the benefits of IV therapy or wellness injections. However, comprehensive lab testing can help you get even more out of your treatments by identifying your body’s specific needs. With a clearer picture of your nutrient levels, hormone balance, and overall health, your IV and injection protocols can be customized for optimal results and greater long-term wellness.
